RACING SINGS TOGETHER IN RELEASE OF CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL SONG ‘DOWNTOWN’

Thanks to so many people, the dream that started last November has now become a reality. The single ‘Cheltenham’ is released in to the UK chart on SUNDAY 7TH MARCH, 2010.

With your help we can make this a huge hit for our four benefiting charities, The Bob Champion Cancer Trust, Riding for the Disabled, Racing Welfare and the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Ireland.

The hype and anticipation has been building and now is the time to act. The parody of Petula Clarke’s 1964 hit has the feel good factor and it gives everyone a chance to sing along. As the song says……’you can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares so go to Cheltenham’. After two successful recordings in London and Dublin with more than 40 racing faces taking part including; A P McCoy, Paul Nicholls, Barry Geraghty, Clive Smith and Sam Thomas to name a few, interest has been building and Paddy Power have priced up the chances of the single hitting the No 1 spot in both the UK and Irish charts at 10/1 and 8/1 respectively.

The lead vocalist on the track is 25 year-old pop/country and soul singer, Laura Critchley who won best Live entertainer in 2008 at the Irish Entertainment Awards and has supported the Sugababes in Dublin along with Boyzone at the RDS Stadium previously.

We are not ‘Racing Against the Machine’, and it is true to say we are not in the league of Simon Cowell or Robbie Williams, we are not pretending to be, we simply want to have some fun and raise as much as possible for four great causes. If the single does make the Top 10 it will be down to our supporters and we are very grateful of you taking the time to help us.
