Cork and Antrim met 6 years in an All-Ireland quarter final where Cork ran out 2-26 to 0-10 winners. Leading up to the game Dinny Cahill, the Antrim manager described a few Cork players as finished. He has stated this week he will not make the same mistake again and has instead praised Cork to a height this time.
Cork wont be too disheartened to losing the Munster final having got to play Antrim having the benefit of playing Tipp already in the championship. They have endured 160 minutes of energy sapping hurling over the past 2 weeks against Waterford. And the consequences are injuries to many of their players with Jerry O’Connor, Shane O’Neill and Sean Og O hAiplin on the treatment table. Cork´s panel will be stretched and they will need using all the fresh legs before the game is out.
Antrim have turned their league form on its head and are the team of the championship so far this year. They were derserving winners last weekend against Dublin having come from 7 pts down. And against Carlow two weeks previously when they also came back from the dead. Their mentality will be in the better state and will be running on adrenalin from the Dublin win.

Prediction
History has shown this will be a routine win for Cork. They will not take Antrim likely but motivation will be a huge task for Denis Walsh. with Kilkenny waiting the winners, they may have one eye on them. Antrim will be the most likely team to start quickly and cause problems but with Cork´s experience, they will pull through in the end.
