Day Three of Galway on Wednesday with the feature race of the meeting the Plate the centrepiece of an 8 race card. The action gets underway at 3.00 and runs right through to 7.10.
Your Busy can give rugby star Ronan O’Gara a Ballybrit victory with success in the 3mile handicap hurdle at 4.10. The James Nash trained 7-y-o finished second in a hotter contest at Killarney last time and looks to be still on the upgrade. He appeals as one that will relish the hill and has an excellent eachway chance. Fairwood Bob is another who can make his presence felt here with a lower hurdles mark to exploit and good recent form.
The feature event at 5.25 looks another opportunity for master trainer Dermot Weld to take the Galway plaudits with Majestic Concorde looking to have everything in his favour. Inexperience is the one doubt and provided he can overcome this drawback he can emerge victorious. Finger On The Pulse could be the dark horse if he can complete the course after three recent mishaps and looks well worth a punt at huge price of 66/1 with Tony McCoy aboard.
Peculiar Prince is the best eachway bet on the card in the handicap at 6.00. Liam McAteer has his string in decent form and the 8-y-o always seems to run his race around the Galway undulations. At around 7/1-8/1 he should make the frame at least. Watch for a gamble on local horse Metal Madness,now in the care of Tony Martin. Although he has something to find with the selection on last seasons form the switch in stable may well do the trick.
Yes Missus can add to Pat Flynns Galway tally by making all from her favourable draw in the 1mile handicap at 6.35. Owned by local man,Liam Mulryan, the filly made all at Ballinrobe last time and on the form of her previous second at Gowran Park she looks on a nice mark here.
