Blackrock AC athlete Sarah Healy ran the second fastest 1,500m time ever for a European under 18, when clocking 4:09.25 in Tubingen, Germany, yesterday.
The 17 year-old’s time of 4:09.25 was the fastest time since Ana Padurean of Romania ran 4:06.02 in 1982.
The Dubliner recently broke Ciara Mageean’s Irish senior girls 1,500m record of 4:18.32 at the All Ireland Schools Track and Field Championships, as well as setting new times for both the U20 1,500m and 3,000m respectively.
Sarah Healy is due to compete in the World Junior Championships in Finland in July.
Sensational 4:09.25 over 1500m for Sarah Healy – smashing the Irish youth record and a European senior qualifier at 17. Mageean 4th in 4:06.70 https://t.co/AyYDLitd0Z
