Team Ireland will return home victorious from the 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games tomorrow with a hoard of 12 medals (three gold, six silver, three bronze) and six Place Ribbons.
Today marked the final day of competition at the Games, which were held in PyeongChang in South Korea. Katherine Daly from Dalkey, Co. Dublin and Stuart Brierton from Sallynoggin, Co. Dublin both secured silver medals in the Slalom Novice Division event.
In the Slalom Intermediate Division, Lucy Best from Lisburn, Co. Antrim and Ryan Hill from Richhill, Co. Armagh took 4th Place in their respective races while Gary Burton from Sallynoggin finished in 6th place.
Team Ireland has enjoyed great success at these Games securing 11 medals in the Alpine Skiing competition and one medal in Floorball.
The Team are due to touch down in Dublin Airport at 21.25 tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6th February, where they will be greeted by family members, friends and supporters.
