Clonakilty (Co. Cork) promoter Mike O’Regan has worked the oracle once again by bringing undefeated former World Super Middleweight/Light Heavyweight Champion Joe Calzaghe to Ireland a few days before Christmas.
Last month, O’Regan brought ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson to Thomond Park where in excess of 750 guests got the chance to meet the former Heavyweight World Champion. Now O’Regan is set to bring a similar show to Cork and Dublin.
“An Audience with Joe Calzaghe” will be held on Thursday, December 20th in Dublin’s Red Cow Inn and Friday December 21st at Cork’s Silver Springs Moran Hotel.
Calzaghe will appear on stage alongside Cork middleweight Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan and Dublin heavyweight Jim Rock. The trio will field questions about their life and career from RTÉ’s Darragh Maloney.
The show starts at 8pm each night. Some of Calzaghe’s classic fights will be shown on a big screen and a question and answer session will also be held.
An auction will take place on each night with memorabilia from Manny Pacquaio, Tyson, Joe Frazier and Roberto Duran.
Tickets for each night are priced at €35 Standard Entry; €64 Meet and Greet. Tickets are currently on sale and are available from Ticket Group or any Xtra-Vision nationwide. A 9″ x 6″ photo with Calzaghe will cost €20 and will be printed on the night.
