Waterford’s Francis Connors and the mare Erne Lady Goldilocks won the 1.40m Gold Tour International class, a Millstreet Grand Prix Qualifier, at The Green Glens Arena Millstreet on Friday.
The chestnut Irish Sport Horse, winner of the Millstreet Grand Prix in 2017, produced a double clear round in today’s qualifier, winning the jump off in a time of 35.73 seconds.
Tadhg Kearney and the gelding Fanta M were next best in the jump-off round, going clear in 35.91 seconds, while Cian Harrison and Tabby took third in 36.64 seconds, as twenty combinations from Friday’s competition will go forward to Sunday’s final.
The 1.30m Gold/Silver Tour 2-phase International competition went to Vincent Byrne and Mr Rockfeller, who were double clear, posting 32.08 seconds in the second phase.
The runner-up spot went to John Floody with Donevan Erkindale (33.21 seconds), with Ciarán Nallon and Belfield’s Captain claiming third in 33.76 seconds.
The 1.25m Silver Tour International class was won by Sven Hadley and Ganorad (61.49 seconds), ahead of Jonathan Smyth with Cruising Lux (61.51 seconds) and Jack Ryan with Zavatar F (62.71 seconds).
The two International classes in the Main Arena at Millstreet on Saturday will be the Millstreet Masters 1.35m Gold Tour, which has 81 on the start list and begins at 12.00. International competition No. 8 of Millstreet 2019 will be the 1.25m Silver Tour Final. The first of 96 combinations will enter the arena at 3pm.
