Live score commentary updates from Clare v Limerick in the Munster SFC Semi-Final, 7:30pm Saturday 9th June, Gaelic Grounds
Clare manager, Michael McDermott, has almost a full complement of players to choose from as his side prepare to face Limerick this Saturday at the Gaelic Grounds.
The only absentee is Graham Kelly, with the St. Joseph’s Milltown man suffering a broken hand earlier in the week, during training.
Joe Hayes will start in goal while Enda Coughlan is set to make his first start all year at centre-forward, ably supported by Shane McGrath and captain Alan Clohessy.
Limerick star midfielder, Joe Galvin, is fit again and will take his place on the bench, something that manager Maurice Horan is touting as a potential game-changer for his side.
Galvin will not need a second operation on his cruciate ligament but has not been rushed back by Horan, who instead, keeps Iain Corbett in the half-forward line to make his first championship start.
Stephen Kelly comes in for Eoghan Kelly at centre-forward in the only change to the starting line-up from the game against Waterford.
“It’s a huge boost for our whole squad,” Horan admitted.
“We’d written John off for this game to be honest. He’s done great rehabilitation to come back and get it right. It’s still a severe tear in his knee but it sums up his desire that he’s playing. John is a huge influence in our squad and it’s great to have him back in our plans.”
