Limerick too strong for Cork in minor hurling

Limerick cruised to a 2-14 to 12 points win over Cork in the ESB Munster MHC first round clash at the Gaelic Grounds thanks to goals from Jack Ahern and Brendan O’Connor as well as 6 points from the hurl of Na Piarsaigh’s Shane Dowling.

The Limerick side included 6 players from the Ardscoil Ris which recently finished runner’s up in the All Ireland College’s final.

Defence was the key for the treaty men as they restricted the visitors to just four points from open play and their winning margin could have been greater had they not conceded as many frees.
