Tyrone boss Mickey Harte has said that he expects Joe McMahon to return to action within the next month.
The Omagh clubman had been expected to miss the Ulster championship after suffering a double jaw fracture in a club game, but Harte said today that he nows believes the player will be back much sooner.
“The good news is that Joe is recovering and will be back at some stage of the season, whether that be in the Ulster semi-final or a qualifier game,” said Harte.
“You look at some players, and they can play one or two positions which is great, but you look at Joe McMahon and he can play in any position.
“To lose a player as versatile and capable as that is a huge loss. There’s no telling the impact that will have on us as a team, but we’ll have to live with that. It’s unfortunate.”
