Former star forward Mark Ronaldson has been recalled to the Mayo senior football panel ahead of their Connacht Semi Final against Galway on June 26.
The Shrule/Glencorrib clubman was omitted from the squad at the end of the league, but played very well in a challenge match against Donegal last Thursday and has been asked to return by manager James Horan. The team played much better than against London and pleased Horan.
“People just wanted to get back out on the field again and get back to work,” Horan told The Mayo News.
“We trained on Tuesday, played Donegal on Thursday, and got together on Friday and Saturday as well so we got a lot of good work done.
“The lads put in a completely different performance against Donegal than they had in London. It was a tight, hard game and a good work-out.
“The lads gave us a great response over the weekend too but we didn’t expect anything less from them.”
