Moran forced to step down

Leitrim senior football manager Mickey Moran has had to stand down from his position due to health reasons

The former Derry Inter-county star has been in charge at Leitrim since 2009 and had previously managed Derry, Sligo, Donegal and Mayo.

Moran was part of the Derry management team that won the 1993 All-Ireland SFC, fulfilling the role of coach.

A statement released by the Leitrim county board read “Leitrim GAA regret that due to health reasons their senior football team manager, Mickey Moran has had to stand down from his position.

Mickey was in his fourth year as manager. All in Leitrim GAA fraternity wish him a speedy return to full health.”
