Another weekend of club football action ends and there was some thrilling encounters right across the country.
In Clare the senior final between Miltown-Mallbay and Ennistymon took place. Milltown Malbay prevailed in then end on a score of 0-14 to 0-08. Eoin Clearly top scored for Miltown with 0-05 and Kieran Malone registered three points from play. The Cork SFC Final also took place ON Sunday with St Finbarrs coming up against Duhallow in a superb game St Finbarrs won 3-14 to 2-14. Stephen Sherlock kicked 1-08 for the winners who won their first title in 33 years.
In Galway reigning All Ireland club championships Corofin were held to a draw in the Galway senior final to Mountbellew-Moylough. Gary Sice with 0-03 for Corofin, while Michael Lundy got the rescue score from a fisted point. In Kerry Dr Crokes were once again crowned champions in the Kingdom with a 1-15 to 0-12 win over Dingle. David Shaw kicked 0-04 for the winners, which seen veterans Colm Cooper and Eoin Brosnan sprung from the bench.
In London, Tir Chonaill Gaels beat Fulham Irish 0-15 to 0-13 in the replay. Killian Butler was on fire for the Gaels as he kicked 0-05. In Tipperary Moyle Rovers were crowned champions beating Ardfinnan 1-15 to 1-07 at Semple Stadium. Liam Boland top scored for the winners with 0-06, two of which came from play.
In Leinster, the first round of the club championship took place. Shelmaliers of Wexford were easily disposed of by Meath champions Meath 1-12 to 1-02 at Wexford Park. In Mullingar, Kildare champions Moorefield got the better of Mullingar Shamrocks 2-09 to 1-06, while Offaly senior football champions Rhode got the better of Wicklow champions St Patrick’s by 2-16 to 1-09 in Aughrim.
