Roscommon v Leitrim, Sunday 12th of May, Dr Hyde Park, 3.30pm
Roscommon come into the game on the back of been relegated to Division 2 for 2020, while Leitrim had a superb league campaign with new boss Terry Hyland. They gained promotion and reached the league final only losing out by a couple of points to Derry. They will not fear Roscommon here either.
Anthony Cunningham would have loved to stay in the top Division for 2020, but it just wasn’t to be. They had some poor results Cunningham has superb players at his disposal though, with the Daly’s in defence, Conor and Niall, Tadgh O’Rourke has been superb in midfield, while in attack Diarmuid Murtagh is set to return. Conor Cox has been superb since joining up with the Rossies and he could have a big championship campaign and I expect him to have a big game here.
Leitrim as we already said played in Division 4 and got promoted. They put in some incredible performances. Emlyn Mulligan, Ryan O’Rourke, Shane Moran, Michael McWeeney and Shane McWeeney are all good players. They will need to be at their best if they are to win here in what would be a massive upset.
Roscommon : Colm Lavin, Dave Murray, Conor Daly, Gary Paterson, Conor Devaney, Niall Daly, Ronan Daly, Tadgh O’Rourke, Shane Killoran, Niall Kilroy, Donie Smith, Enda Smith, Conor Cox, Diarmuid Murtagh, Cathal Cregg
Leitrim: C McCrann; A Flynn, M McWeeney P Maguire R Mulvey , S McWeeney, C McGloin; M Plunkett S Moran; S Quinn, R O’Rourke , D McGovern; D Flynn , E Mulligan , E Sweeney
Leitrim are 4/1 to win, Roscommon are 2/9 and the draw is 10/1. Roscommon should win this on paper.
