According to the score.ie, McBrearty suffered a bite wound on his shoulder, which was treated by Donegal
medics at half time, and the Kilcar forward received further treatment later that evening in Letterkenny General Hospital.

Donegal have expressed their annoyance at the situation, but it is unclear whether any action will be taken, as referee Padraig Hughes did not see the incident.

Hughes was forced to leave the game in the second half, after injuring his ankle, with Marty Duffy taking his place.

It is understood that Donegal will not push the issue further, but have taken pictures of the wound, consistent with teeth marks, in case there is an investigation.
