GAA News – Gallagher resigns as Donegal manager

Donegal have confirmed this evening that Rory Gallagher has left his role as Donegal senior manager.

Gallagher did have another year left in his position but has opted to end his tenure prematurely after a disappointing 2017 championship campaign.

Local media reports claim that Gallagher contacted the players earlier this evening to let them know he would no longer stay in the job.

Gallagher was appointed as a selector under Jim McGuiness in 2011 and succeeded McGuiness as manager in October 2014 but failed to reach the highs of his predecessor.
