Kilkenny v Dublin, Saturday 11th of May, 7pm, Nowlan Park
This should be a cracking game to set the ball rolling in the 2019 hurling championship. It will the first game in the Leinster Championship and it will be a crucial game in terms of the teams goals for the year.
Kilkenny failed to reach the league quarter- finals under Brian Cody this year, so they surrendered their National League crown which they won in 2018, I don’t think it will bother the Kilkenny management team too much though. They again gave players game time and tried out new players. However, the Ballyhale Shamrocks players will be returning here which will mean TJ Reid and Colin Fennelly come back into the side.
Dublin under new boss Mattie Kenny did well in Division 1b, they beat Waterford so that would have pleased the former Cuala boss. They will travel to Kilkenny looking for a win to get a win under their belt. Last year in Parnell Park Dublin pushed Kilkenny all the way and I expect them to do the same just here.
Kilkenny: Eoin Murphy, Paul Murphy, Paddy Deegan, Tommy Walsh, Enda Morrissey, Huw Lawlor, Conor Fogarty, Padraig Walsh, Alan Murphy, Adrian Mullen, Walter Walsh, TJ Reid, Billy Ryan, Colin Fennelly, Ger Aylward

Kilkenny are 4/7 favourites to win this, Dublin hurlers were 3/1 in the betting but are now only 7/4
