This Weekend’s Live GAA Preview

Saturday 5th

RTÉ Two are keeping GAA fans happy with more live GAA this Saturday. Firstly, a Mayo GAA doubleheader graced the screen last weekend. Now, the cameras are in Tyrone for the Senior Football Championship’s semi-finals.

The first game features defending champions, Trillick. Matty Donnelly and co made headlines last week. Their quarter-final win against Killyclogher went to penalties. Goalkeeper Ryan Kelly was the hero to send his team through.

If they want a chance to retain their title, Trillick must overcome Coalisland Na Fianna. Coalisland were 1-9 to 1-6 winners over Derrylaughan in the last round. This game throws in at 5.30 pm.

Secondly, Dungannon Thomas Clarke GAA vs Errigal Ciaran is live at 7.30 pm. Errigal Ciaran were one-point winners over Dromore in the quarter-final. Meanwhile, Dungannon scored an impressive 1-23 to beat the challenge of Ardboe.

Both of these games are part of RTÉ Two’s Live GAA coverage. The coverage starts at 5.10 pm.

Sunday 6th

TG4 is the home of Live GAA on Sunday.

At 2 pm, the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship is live. Ballyhale Shamrocks take on Clara in the semi-final. The current All-Ireland Champions are favourites to reach the final.

Then, coverage moves to the Roscommon Senior Football Championship. There, Clann na nGael and Pádraig Pearses have their own semi-final. Pearses were 2019 winners but Clann ns nGael will be a tough test. Throw-in is at 3.50 pm.

So far, the return of club action has not disappointed. With this year’s lack of inter-county action, the club game has risen. Thankfully, the TV cameras have brought us Live GAA at every opportunity.
