Cork v Kerry, Thursday, Pairc Ui Rinn, 7.30pm. Live on TG4
Cork and Kerry meet on Thursday night at Pairc Ui Rinn at 7.30pm. The game is live on TG4. The winner of the game will progress to the All-Ireland semi-finals also.
Cork come into the game with confidence brimming for sure. They racked up 5-23 in a commanding 31 point over Waterford. That game will probably not have prepared them quite so well for the game with the Kingdom which will be a different kettle of fish and a lot closer. Keith Ricken will look to his inside full forward for the scores which performed quite well against Waterford. He will look to Mark Cronin, Cathal O’Mahony and Damien Gore.
Kerry have multiple All-Ireland winning manager Jack O’Connor as the U20 boss which is great as he knows how to get the best out of players. Kerry were easy winners over Limerick in the Munster semi-final 0-18 to 1-03. An improvement in the performance will be required and possibly a goal or two will be required. In defence Dylan Casey, Patrick Warren and Sean O’Leary will be key players. In attack Fiachra Clifford, Cathal Ferriter and Donal O’Sullivan will be key players.
Cork: Josh O’Keeffe; Michael O’Mahony, Maurice Shanley, Paul Ring; Gearoid O’Donovan, Shane Hickey, Peter O’Driscoll, Brian Hartnett, Daniel O’Connell, Colm Barrett, Blake Murphy, Mark Hodnett; Mark Cronin, Cathal O’Mahony, Damien Gore.
Kerry: Brian Lonergan, Dan McCarthy, Dylan Casey, Michael Potts, Cian Gammell, Patrick Warren, Sean O’Leary, Joseph O’Connor, Barry Mahony,Sean O’ Donoghue, Sean Horan, Eddie Horan, Fiachra Clifford, Donal O’Sullivan, Killian Falvey.
Kerry are 2/5 favourites, while Cork are priced at 5/2. The draw is 15/2. I fancy Kerry to win Kerry -3 at 11/10 looks a good bet.
