Tipperary 3-23 Waterford 0-10
Waterford’s poor year at inter-county level continued with another hammering in the Munster U20 Hurling semi-final on Tuesday night. Liam Cahill’s Tipperary side ran out easy winner by 22 points in Thurles to set up a Munster Final with Cork or Clare later this month.

Tipperary were the best team in the first half as the score suggests. Jake Morris, a member of Liam Sheedy’s senior side who will be playing Laois this weekend, scored 7 of their total of 11 points in the first half. He contributed all but one from frees. On the opposite end of the field, it was midfielder Billy Power that done most of the Waterford scoring, again 4 points of their first-half total of 5 coming from frees.
Tipperary killed the game off early on in the second half and their lead was out 0-15 to 0-07 after 36 minutes. Tipperary who will be looking for a first U20 Munster title since 2011 next time out then grabbed two quick goals in the space of 2 minutes to kill the game off. Jerome Cahill set up Conor Bowe for the first goal, Bowe had the easiest of tasks finishing to an empty net after rounding Waterford netminder Darragh Beecher. Man of the match Bowe got his second goal soon after his superb solo effort. Joe Fogarty added a third Premier goal to add to the Waterford misery.
In truth, it was far to easy for Tipperary who will now play a Munster Final against Cork or Clare (who play on Wednesday 10th of July), they also guarantee themselves a place in the All-Ireland semi-finals. Jake Morris was superb with 0-13, Conor Bowe with 2-02 had an excellent performance as did Paddy Caddell and Mick Purcell. Billy Power was best for Waterford with 0-08 but they were outclassed and out hurled. They also only scored 2 points from play in 60 minutes which is poor showing. You would just have to ask the question where to now for Waterford hurling?
