Spectators will hope today’s replay between Stradbally and The Nire will be a more watchable affair after last week’s dire stalemate played in dreadful weather conditions.
Both teams have faced each other in six county finals since 2002; the majority of the clashes, however, have been draws. It’s an indication of their respective forces in Waterford football over those years.
Another tight encounter is envisaged today for the two rivals, while a better standard of football should also be on show. Last week’s game was played in driving wind and rain which seriously hampered both teams footballing style and kept the scoring low.
There really isn’t much between the teams, however, Strabally have had the edge over the rivals in the past decade and may just have enough in the tank if it goes to extra-time.
