CRUNCH TIME IN THE PREMIER COUNTY
It’s been another vintage Tipperary Senior Club hurling championship. As many as 9 teams harbored the realistic ambition of lifting the Dan Breen Cup. The last three winners all exited at the quarter-final stage. Now only four are left standing. All roads lead to Semple Stadium this weekend. It promises to be a feast of hurling action.

Kiladangan V Dromin-Inch
Beating the last seasons All-Ireland finalists was quite a scalp for the Mid-Division side. it certainly helps, when you have the Hurler Of The Year in the form of his life. It’s been nine seasons since Seamus Callanan and Co won the title. Former Tipp and club midfielder James Woodlock is now the supremo.
Former junior champions Kiladangan are now one of the most consistent teams in the county. They are back-boned by Premier aces Willie Connors, Alan Flynn, and under 20 star Billy Seymour. They disappointed on the big stage last year. The manner of the defeat to Borris-Ileigh rankled with them. A golden opportunity was spurned by profligacy in front of goal. They have been steadily rehabilitating.
Nenagh Eire OG V LOughmore Castleiney
Loughmore is bidding for a double as they also prepare for a football semi-final seven days later with Moyle Rovers. Noel McGrath, John, and Brian need no introduction. Evergreen Evan Sweeney is rolling back the years, but will that be enough against Nenagh?
The last time the town side was successful, Micheal Cleary was shooting the lights out. Jake Morris hit a hat-trick last weekend and looked unplayable. Barry Heffernan looks to the manor born at center-back. The loss of veteran Hugh Moloney is a concern though. Also the unenviable record of having lost seven successive deciders since their last win in 1995.
