Tyrone’s All-Ireland Championship hopes have suffered a severe blow with the confirmation that star goalkeeper, and free kick specialist,Niall Morgan is out for the rest of the season.
BBC Sport NI reports that the Red Hands goalkeeper suffered a knee injury,at the weekend, while playing for his club Edendork against Derryflesk .
The 21 years old,was one of Tyrone’s leading scorers,with 18 points, in this year’s Allianz National League campaign.
He is due to go ‘under the knife’ at Belfast’s Ulster Clinic on Tuesday to repair damaged collateral knee ligaments,which resulted in his being stretchered off the field.
Manager Mickey Harte is likely to call in Pascal McConnell for the qualifier clash against Offaly in Tullamore at the end of June and may yet ask three times All-Ireland medal winner John Devine to re-join the panel as back up to McConnell.
