Waterford half-forward John Mullane has reportedly taken an indefinite break from inter-county hurling.
The 31 year old started his Waterford career in 2001 and has won three All-Stars in his time with the Munster county.
Mullane has not made any official media announcement, but the forward is believed to be taking at least six weeks out.
The half-forward missed out on the captaincy recently after manager Michael Ryan named Michael “Brick” Walsh as captain of the Deise.
The news of Mullane’s break is a further blow to Waterford, with Eoin Kelly being omitted from their squad in recent times due to fitness problems.
