Here’s our weekly round up of what’s been happening in the UFC over the last week.

It’s been a busy week with UFC on Fox 3 and a few headline bouts for other cards coming together as well as devastating news for the bantamweight title holder.

UFC on Fox 3 Results:

Diaz claims title shot with victory over Miller. Nate Diaz has placed himself in the No.1 contenders spot of the Lightweight division following his 2 round dismantling of Jim Miller. Diaz (who we tipped at a whopping 2/1 in our preview last week) will now face the winner of Henderson vs. Edgar II. With his victory on Saturday night Diaz became to stop Miller in his professional career.

Cruz out of UFC 148 title fight. Faber awaits interim title opponent:

Dominic Cruz is out of his Bantamweight title defence due to a knee injury. A damaged ACL is the culprit according to reports. Cruz was interviewed by MMAFighting.com and confirmed the cause of the injury as well as his thoughts on a few related matters.

His opponent Faber will now face a new challenger on the UFC 148 card for an interim belt. It’s thought that Renan Barao or Ivan Menjivar are the most likely replacements for Cruz.

Koch vs. Aldo official for UFC 149:

A muted Featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Eric Koch has been confirmed for UFC 149. It was thought that Aldo’s next fight may have joined the UFC 147 card after Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen were moved to UFC 148 in Las Vegas.

Henderson vs. Edgar II confirmed for UFC 150:

In what’s been a busy week for the UFC announcement wise. It’s been also confirmed that the rematch between Benson Henderson and Frankie Edgar will take place at UFC 150 in Denver.
