There were scenes of wild celebration as Donegal side Colaiste Choilmcille edged out Marian College Dublin in a phenomenal contest on a scoreline of 55-53.

‘MVP’ Brion McGowen hit ten points and the games winning basket in the dying seconds of a pulsating encounter, which neither team really deserved to lose.

MVP; M O’Leary (St Vincents Cork)

St Vincent’s saw off the challenge of a gallant Mercy side 42-41, who just failed to take the title after a barely believable comeback in the final quarter.

For Vincent’s, it is a second title of the season, having secured the U-16 crown at National Cup level earlier this year. MVP Megan O’Leary was instrumental in securing victory for her side with a fourteen point game, but was run a close second by Mercy’s Clare Brennan, who almost dragged her side to victory in the final stages.

Pobail Scoil Chorca Dhuibhne of Kerry defeated a brave St Joseph’s of Abbeyfeale in a tremendous contest that swung back and forth from start to finish. The game’s MVP Kate Ni Shuilleabhan was one of many excellent performers in this pulsating contest.

Joseph’s frantically tried to get back and reduced it to four in the closing stages, but it was the girls from the Gaelscoil in Kerry who ran out victorious after this absorbing battle. Final score.50-46

St Leo’s will be hugely pleased with the contribution of Aisling Hayden, who was voted ‘MVP’ after a massive sixteen point contribution.
