Laois and Offaly win in Leinster minor hurling

    Laois and Offaly were both victorious in the Leinster minor hurling championship on Saturday.

    The former, who lost to Westmeath in the first round, enjoyed a 2-21 to 4-8 win over Meath at Pairc Tailteann. They will now play Wexford, who were beaten by Dublin yesterday. Meath had defeated Kildare in their opening-round fixture.

    Offaly, who lost to Wexford in the opening round,had it easier at Dr Cullen Park, beating Carlow by 3-16 to 1-10.

    The Barrowsiders had previously beaten Wicklow in the earlier round.
