Ballydoyle’s Await The Dawn, was an easy winner of the Betfair Huxley Stakes at Chester this afternoon.
Ryan Moore tracked the pace for much of the race and took it up from Distant Memories turning for home. The son of Giant’s Causeway ran on well to win by four-and-a-half lengths.
Distant Memories held on for second ahead of Forte Dei Marmi.
Moore told Channel Four Racing:: “We went a proper gallop and this horse travelled and stayed on very well.”
Paul Smith, representing the owners, said: “We’re delighted and we’ll probably step him up now.
“We’ll look at Royal Ascot and something like the Hardwicke or the Prince of Wales’s.”
