Saturday sees the highlight of the Scottish racing season, with the Ayr Gold Cup run over 6f. The 27 runner sprint is a difficult race to solve, but Sportsnewsireland have the key trends to help punters narrow their selections:
15/16 had between 11 & 30 previous career starts.
14/16 had previously won at class 3 level or above.
13/16 ran at a Grade 1 track last time out.
14/16 carried 9-03 or less to victory.
14/16 had no more than 5 previous victories.
14/16 had no more than 9 runs in current season.
14/16 had no more than 4 previous handicap victories.
13/16 had an OR of between 89 & 100.
13/16 were aged 4 or 5.
13/16 finished in the top 3 on 1 of last 3 starts.
12/16 ran within the past 22 days.
13/16 had a top 3 finish in a field of 16 runners or more.
With most bookmakers paying 5 places on the race, those getting involved in the race should at least get a run for their money. Going on the result of Friday’s Bronze Cup over course and distance, it appears as if a rails draw on either side of the track is favoured over a middle berth.
