Bayern Munich star destined for Manchester United after World Cup

Toni Kroos is now trading at 1/10 with bookmakers to become a Manchester United player after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil ends.

German international Kroos is out of contract next summer and unless he agrees a new deal with current club Bayern Munich, looks set to leave the Bundesliga giants.

Kroos, who is set to feature for his country at this summer’s World Cup, has 42 caps for Germany and scored five goals to date.

The Red Devils have been in negotiations with 24-year-old Kroos for two months now and according to reports, are close to striking a deal for the midfielder – who could depart on a free next year.

It is understood that Louis van Gaal, who was appointed manager on Monday, is keen to make Kroos one of his first signings as he looks to rebuild United’s squad.

The current Netherlands’ coach is believed to have a £200m budget to spend in the summer on reinforcing his new team.

United finished a disappointing seventh-place last season, but under van Gaal are expected to improve and challenge for the title next season.
