Eugene Laverty wins in Monza

    Irish rider, Eugene Laverty looks a serious World Superbike title contender after winning two races in Monza to make it a double in Italy.

    Laverty, who is in his first full season in the top level of the sport claimed his first superbike podium in race one. He then showed great composure in the second race, overcoming a bad start and coming through late. Laverty beat teammate Marco Melandri to the flag and is now in fifth place overall.
