The Longines Global Champions Tour has moved to London for the 14th round of the series this weekend, with action at the Royal Hospital Chelsea on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Today’s main class is the Global Champions League London Round One which begins this evening at 5.30pm, with a number of high profile Irish riders in action in search of the €59,400 prize to the individual class winner.
Cork’s Shane Sweetnam and Alejandro will be the first of the Irish in action, when the combination jump for Shanghai Swans. Mark McAuley and Miebello will be the pathfinders for Madrid In Motion, which will be the seventh team into the arena.
Tipperary native Denis Lynch and GC Chopin’s Bushi will open the action for New York Empire, whose second combination is Britain’s Scott Brash, riding Hello Mr President.
The last of the Irish riders in Round One this evening will be the in-form Darragh Kenny and Balou De Reventon, who compete for the Paris Panthers. Kenny will be the second line rider for the French-named side, as American Jennifer Gates and Monaco will be first to jump for the Panthers.
