Ireland 3rd in FEI Eventing Nations Cup in England ahead of Sunday’s final phase

In the FEI Eventing Nations Cup at Houghton Hall in England, a brilliant show jumping performance from Ireland on Saturday has seen them move up to third place overall.

Ireland, led by Chef d’Équipe Rodney Powell, completed the jumping phase without adding any penalties after achieving clear rounds from Austin O’Connor (Colorado Blue), Aidan Keogh (Pride of Tredstep (ISH) and Michelle Kenny (RLE Aspe).

Declan Cullen and Seavaghan Ash (ISH)(TIH), meanwhile, finished the showjumping with just one fence down.

The Irish team is now on their Dressage score of 102.3 heading into Sunday’s final round, the Cross Country phase.

The host nation, Britain, leads on 88.0 with Germany in second position with 89.2 penalties.
