John Mulhern passes away following lengthy illness

    John Mulhern died on Monday morning following a long illness. He was 69. He trained the Stayers’ Hurdle(now World Hurdle) winner at Cheltenham Festival in 1987 and 1988 with Galmoy he also trained Flashing Steel to win the Irish Grand National in 1995 for his Father in Law.

    John Mulhern was survived by his wife, Goffs chairman Eimear Mulhern, the daughter of the late Taoiseach Charles Haughey. John also ran the very successful Findus business . He was also the retired boss of Meadow Court Stud in Kildare.
