Matt Ryan has finished a credible 25th out of 104 starters in the Slalom at the Winter European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday.
Ryan is part of the two person team competing this week, alongside Elle Murphy who finished 40th in the Slalom yesterday. The competition runs from the 9-16 February in the Olympic host city Sarajevo and East Sarajevo.
Sixteen-year-old Ryan was the sixth starter in the second run as a 25th place finish in the morning for the Irish first year junior ensured a favourable starting position for the afternoon session.
The gold medal went to Joshua Sturm of Austria, with Italian Manuel Ploner claiming the silver and another Austrian Lukas Feurstein taking the bronze.
Tomorrow Elle Murphy is back in action, competing in the Giant Slalom, while on Thursday, Ryan switches his focus to the Giant Slalom.
