Ravensdale Lodge in Co Louth plays host to round two of the 2014 Leinster Summer Tour (L.S.T) on Saturday (May 24th), with fifty horses and riders declared for the 1.35m competition which is sponsored by Louth County Enterprise Board.
Fresh from his win in the opening round of the LST at Barnadown and another victory in the Munster Grand Prix at Aglish on Sunday last, Meath’s Gerard Clarke will be among the favourites, but he will face tough opposition, as a host of Ireland’s top riders will be in action, hoping to grab a share of the generous prize fund.
John Floody, Ger O Neill and former World Champion Dermott Lennon are just some of those who have travelled to the Louth venue, which will also host a round of the National Grand Prix league on Sunday.
Sponsored by the forthcoming Leinster Region Fundraiser, “A Nights Greyhound Racing at Shelbourne Park” which will take place on Thursday August 7th, the 2014 Leinster Summer Tour boasts a very generous prize fund, including the “Karlswood Stables Bursary” where the leading Young Rider in the L.S.T will receive a week’s training including accommodation for both horse and rider, with Olympic Bronze medallist Cian O’Connor at his Karlswood base in Co Meath.
The Leinster Summer Tour grand final which will be held at the Breeders Classic at Barnadown, Co Wexford in September.
