Search begins for new Kildare Senior hurling manager

Kildare GAA will search for a new Senior Hurling manager after Andy Comerford quit his post, in the wake of the Lillywhite’s Christy Ring Cup semi-final defeat to Westmeath.

Since that time a three-man panel comprising of Hurling Board Chairman Eddie Lawlor, Vice-Chairman Aidan Sinnott and Joe Doolin, has been set-up to locate a successor to the Kilkenny man, who won three All-Ireland.

“We plan on filling the position sooner rather than later but there’s no point rushing it because we have to get the right person,” Lawlor told the Leinster Leader this week.

Mr Lawlor revealed that they hope to have a new management appointed before the county SHC final takes place in early October.
