Sunday’s 2019 CP ‘International’ at CSIO Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ was won by American Beezie Madden riding Darry Lou.

Runner-up in the second major of the year was Australian Rowan Willis with Blue Movie, with third place going to Max Kühner and Chardonnay 79 for Austria.

The 5* Grand Prix welcomed 48 riders to the expertly designed course created by the world-renowned Leopoldo Palacios.

These elite horse and rider combinations were faced with two incredibly challenging rounds, which once again proved to be the ultimate test of partnership, precision and excellence.

Canadian hero, Eric Lamaze, and the current World No. 1, Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat, both produced faultless rounds to join 10 other successful combinations in round two.

Despite valiant efforts from all pairings, it was Madden who clinched the title, and in doing so becoming the new Rolex Grand Slam of Showjumping live contender.

The attention of the equestrian world will now turn to the CHI Geneva, in Switzerland in December, the next Major in the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping.

3. Max Kühner (AUT) with Chardonnay 79.
4. Francois Jr Mathy (BEL) with Uno de la Roque.
