Darragh Kenny & Extra van Essene 2nd in $36,000 Douglas Elliman Real Estate class at WEF

Offaly’s Darragh Kenny finished second to American Kristen Vanderveen in the featured $36,000 Douglas Elliman Real Estate 1.45m at the Winter Equestrian Festival at Wellington, Florida.

Sixty-three combinations contested Kelvin Bywater’s (GBR) two-round course, with Vanderveen and Bull Run’s Almighty claiming the win in 26.43 seconds.

Kenny and Extra van Essene were next best as they stopped the clock in 27.05 seconds, with four-time U.S. Olympic medallist Beezie Madden with Jiva finishing in third in a time of 27.27 seconds.

Conor Swail was next best of the Irish riders, taking sixth place with Koss Van Heiste in 29.01 seconds; Cork’s Darren Sweetnam, riding Alejandro, was 7th in 29.17 seconds, while Richie Moloney and Button Sitte finished in 9th spot in a time of 29.49 seconds.
