Ireland’s Denis Lynch and the 10-year-old gelding The Sinner were third in Saturday’s 1m60 Land Rover Grand Prix at the five-star World Cup show in Helsinki.
The Tipperary man was among seven riders who made it through to the jump-off, where he posted a second clear round in 35.28 seconds, good enough to claim third spot and a cheque for €13,300.
Victory went to Germany’s Philipp Weishaupt with Asathir in 32.30 seconds while Maikel Van der Vleuten (NED) finished as runner-up with Dana Blue in 32.93 seconds.
Shane Breen was ninth with The Irish Sport Horse CSF Vendi Cruz after coming home with one time fault in the first round.
Denis Lynch and The Sinner were seventh in the opening round of the Longines FEI World Cup in Oslo last weekend.
