There was showjumping success for Denis Lynch and Shane Carey in Austria and Denmark respectively over the weekend.
Tipperary man Lynch and the 12-year-old mare Pretty Little Liar claimed a double of five star wins at Treffen in Austria. The combination won Saturday’s 1m50 two phase class with the fastest clear round in a time of 34.07 seconds, a competition in which Mayo’s Michael G Duffy finished fifth with SIEC Anna Jo.
Lynch and Pretty Little Liar proved unbeatable in Sunday’s 1m50 speed class to finish half a second ahead of Italian runner-up Alberto Zorzi with Danique.
On Saturday at Aarhus in Denmark, Limerick-born Shane Carey and the mare Fecybelle won their third Grand Prix in as many weeks. Their clear jump-off round in 35.84 seconds saw them finish over three seconds ahead of their nearest challenger.
This latest win comes on the back of a double of victories for Carey and Fecybelle over the last two weeks at Sopot in Poland.
