Snooker world championship draw

    Neil Robertson could be set to meet Graeme Dott in the quarter finals of this years world snooker championships at the crucible.

    Robertson and Graeme Dott, who fought out last years decider, have placed in the same quarter of the draw which was announced today.

    Awaiting Robertson in the second round, providing he comes through his opening match against a qualifier, could be Hong Kong’s Marco Fu, with Dott and Ali Carter meet for the right to take on the champion.

    Qualifying takes place at Sheffield’s English Institute of Sport venue next month, after which the 16 seeds will be drawn with their first-round opponents.

    Seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry and Mark Selby look set to meet in the last 16, as they did in 2010 when Selby took the honours.

    World number one John Higgins, who lost to Steve Davis in the second round last year before being at the centre of controversy which led to his suspension, is likely to meet Ricky Walden in round two.

    Ronnie O’Sullivan’s could meet Shaun Murphy in the last 16, and then possibly JohnHiggins in the quarter-finals.

    The World Championship runs from 16 April to 2 May.
