Manchester United have been told they can engage in talks to complete a £200 million deal for the transfer of Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale.
Sky Sports have reported that Tottenham who the Welsh striker used to play for are not chasing him on making a return to the club despite been rumours of him linking back up with the North London club. The report goes on to say that Bale is set to meet with the Madrid hierachy in the coming days to discuss his future at the club. Bale was Madrid’s star man when he led his side to a 2-1 win over Liverpool in the Champions League Final spoke after the game and highlighted his opinion on matters citing that he would be prepared on moving this Summer after spending so much time as a substitute in the Real Madrid colours.
It does remain to be seen if United can compete with Chelsea who are also reported to be interested in Bale, while the Daily Star report that Los Blancos want over £200 million for him. United should in real terms be able to afford given they classed as Europe’s richest soccer club last week once again, however the only thing that would put United off making a bid on Bale would be that he is prone to getting injuries. However, for me, Bale showed once again what a talent he is when at full flight. His overhead kick was superb and he can deliver on the big stage, which would sit right into United’s current plans.
I am pretty sure we will hear more about Bale in the coming weeks and whether he will make a move back to England where he scored 42 goals in 146 appearances for Spurs and 5 goals in 40 appearances for Southampton.
