Irish jockey Graham Gibbons has been suspended until June 2019 after pleading guilty to swapping urine tests last December at Kempton Park.
The Galway born jockey Gibbons has been banned for two and half years for swapping a urine sample he was required to produce with that of another rider, Callum Shepherd, and when caught by the local stewards he immediately stood himself down from race riding. He did not renew his license and today he was banned until June 2019 after pleading guilty to the offense.
Gibbons was set to break 100 winners for the calendar year when the incident happened in 2016. He has been doing some work riding since his ban, but it is unclear what his plans after the receiving such a lengthy ban.
