In front of a packed crowd at Les Landes Race Course, Wolf Hunter ran out an easy winner of the highlight of the Jersey racing calendar. He was ridden by Damien Artu and trained by locally based James Moon.
The son of Sir Prancelot was winning his fifth race of the season and went off 2/1 second favorite. White Valiant was sent off 1/1 money but had to settle for second.
Wolf Hunter had previously been trained by Richard Hughes and won a 0-65 under Shane Kelly in Kempton last August, he was sold at the Tatts Autumn sales for 10,000 and was bought by Richard Frisby Bloodstock to go racing in Jersey.
There were no English based runners in the Derby, but Niall Mullholland won the 1m 1f handicap with even money fav Molliana.
