Aviva Stadium to host 2017 Guinness PRO12 Final

The Aviva Stadium in Dublin has been chosen as the venue for the Guinness PRO12 Final which will take place on the 27thof May 2017.

Aviva Stadium will provide the setting for the third PRO12 destination final after previous successes in Belfast and Edinburgh, when the final were held in 2015 and 2016 respectively. Tickets for the final are already on sale and fans can save 20% if they purchase their tickets before the 2nd of January. These tickets can be purchased on Ticketmaster.ie. In addition to the venue choice, PRO12 have announced that Guinness will continue their sponsorship of the tournament for another four years, which will be up until 2020. Chief Executive of PRO12 speaking at a launching event said ‘After the successes of the finals hosted in Belfast and Edinburgh, Aviva Stadium will provide another grand stage that rewards clubs, players and fans from across the Championship’.

Gerald Davies, chairman of PRO12 said that the Championship provides an inventive style of play and this is backed up by statistics from World Rugby.  One such statistic was that when it came to the amount of time the ball was in play it was right up there when compared to other club and international tournaments around the world. Davies said ‘You only have to look at the adventurous styles from our two previous champions, Glasgow Warriors and Connacht Rugby, to see the positivity that exists within our coaches’ rugby philosophies’.

Chief Director of Diageo, Oliver Loomes also commented on the sponsorship of Guinness. He said. ‘Guinness has a longstanding heritage in rugby at all levels, and I’m thrilled to announce that we have extended our partnership with PRO12 Rugby until 2020, continuing our commitment to the sport we all love’.

The tickets for final as already stated are on sale.  Early bird prices from August to January range from 5-90 euro, while from the 3rd of January to the 27th of May, ticket prices will be slightly 20 % more.
