TG4 has confirmed its live tv coverage of next Sunday’s IRB U20 Junior World Championship Semi-Finals between Ireland v England, kick off time 6:05am.
Ireland and hosts New Zealand have joined defending champions England and 2012 winners South Africa in the IRB Junior World Championship Semi-finals after victories over Fiji and Scotland respectively.
Ireland scored five tries in a bonus point victory over Fiji to secure their place in the semi finals of the Junior World Cup.
Fiji conceded three penalty tries, all resulting from scrums, in their 38-0 loss to Ireland. Galwegian’s winger Ciaran Gaffney and Landsdowne’s Conor McKeon scored the other Irish tries from open play. McKeon converted a single try while Gary Ringrose of UCD picked up three conversions and a penalty.
Vincent Sosefo, Aseri robarobalevu and Aminiasi Naituyaga were all sin binned during the match for the Pacific Islanders.
Ireland needed a bonus point win to seal their place in the final four of the tournament and had to overcome extreme weather conditions to do so. Both teams played through heavy rain in Auckland.
Ireland topped Pool B by scoring 86 points while conceding 40. They picked up three bonus points on their route to winning the pool.
