Irish kick-off times and TV schedule for 2019 Rugby World Cup

Irish views will have three viewing options for our Pool A encounters with Scotland, Japan, Russia and Samoa.

RTÉ 2 will be showing all four of Ireland’s pool matches as well as all 8 knock-out games. Dara O’Brien fronts RTÉ’s coverage alongside familiar pundits Brent Pope, Eddie O’Sullivan, Bernard Jackman and Fiona Coughlan. Jamie Heaslip, Stephen Ferris and Ian Madigan will also join RTÉ’s team.

eir Sports have coverage of all 48 World Cup games. Former Irish winger Tommy Bowe will front their coverage alongside fellow former internationals Gordon D’Arcy, Peter Stringer and Jerry Flannery and current Irish women’s internationals Eimer Considine and Louise Galvin. In-game commentary comes from Conor Morris and Liam Toland.

Mark Pougatch and Jill Douglas will divide between them ITV’s coverage of every game at the Rugby World Cup. Viewing will be split between the main ITV channel for higher profile games and ITV 4 for clashes between the minnows. Their impressive list of pundits include Ireland’s Brian O’Driscoll, English World Cup winner Jonny Wilkinson, Welsh and Lions legend Sam Warburton, World Cup record try-scorer Bryan Habana, Former Lions coach Ian McGeechan, Former All-Black captain Sean Fitzpatrick and a host of other well-known rugby personalities.

The first game between hosts Japan and Russia kicks off on Friday morning at 11:45 Irish time. This will be of great interest to Irish viewers as these two teams are in Pool A along with Ireland, Scotland and Samoa. For Irish views RTÉ 2, eir Sports and ITV will be showing this game live.

Joe Schmidt’s Ireland take on Scotland on Sunday morning at 8:45am this game will also be live on RTÉ 2, eir Sports & ITV.
