Paddy Jackson has signed a two year contract with French top 14 side Perpignan.
Jackson along with his former Ulster team mate Stuart Olding has their contracts revoked in April in the wake of their acquittal of rape charges in March. Olding has since gone on to sign for French second division side Brive, while Jackson has now been handed a two year deal by newly promoted Perpignan who won the French title back in 2009.
In a statement the club’s director Christian Lanta said he welcomes the player and he described the fly half as a proven kicker and talented playmaker who will bring his international experience to the club. He said ” Paddy Jackson in the tradition of the Irish 10 knows how to put his individual qualities at the service of the collective.”
Jackson will be looking to relight his career in France he is a quality rugby player and I can see him having a big role in Perpignan over the next two season. Jackson has made 123 appearances for Ulster and scored 872 points from 2011 to 2017.
