2019 Champions League winners, Liverpool, have been drawn against Napoli, Salzburg and Genk in Group E of the Champions League group stage for 2019/20. The draw was made in Monaco on Thursday in which it pitted Klopp’s men against Napoli for the second year in a row.
Premier League winners last season Manchester City will come up against Ukrainian side Shaktar Donetsk, Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia and Atalanta from the Serie A in Italy. Tottenham will come up against Bayern Munich, Greek side Olympiacos and Red Star Belgrade. Chelsea will play Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam who were semi-finalists in last seasons competition, La Liga side Valencia and French Ligue 1 side Losc Lille.
Outside of the English teams, Real Madrid will face Paris St Germain, Brugge of Belgium and Galatasaray of Turkey. Barcelona have probably got the group of death, where they play Inter Milan, Borrusia Dortmund, and Slavia Prague. Italian side Juventus have been drawn with Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and Lokomotiv Moscow. In Group G, Benfica, Zenit, Lyon and Leipzig have all been drawn together in what looks a very even group.
